Inspiring Illustration
Who we are

We are Meiklejohn, we’ve been representing illustrators for over 40 years.  Back when the agency opened its doors a rolodex was an art buyers best friend and artwork was delivered by hand, the Meiklejohn brothers were the go to guys for illustration. A lot has changed since the 1970’s but one thing has stayed the same, clients still come to us for the best in illustration.

We collaborate with creatives on a whole host of projects, from ground breaking ad campaigns to beautiful book covers. We represent some of the world's most talented illustrators and love helping our clients find the artists they want to work with.  We see ourselves as creative facilitators, we take care of the business end of things so everyone else can concentrate on doing what they do best, creating fabulous illustrations.

Claire Meiklejohn is the second generation of Meiklejohns to head up the agency, some might say she was raised on illustration. After earning her creative stripes in the world of arts management she took the reigns of the family business a decade ago and has transformed the agency to meet today’s creative demands.

Louise Tummon worked as an art buyer in some of London's top advertising agencies before joining the agency. Louise has a wealth of experience in project management and ensures all our projects run smoothly. Louise also has a keen eye for emerging talent and is always on the look out for new illustration stars.

Alice Wilkinson curates our blog and newsletter and spreads the word about the wonderful work of our fabulous artists. She also helps our artists to develop their portfolios. Whether it’s tackling a new subject matter or pushing their style in a new direction, Alice nurtures our artists' talents to help them grow.

How we work with our clients

We work across the whole creative spectrum. Advertising agencies, design groups and publishing houses are all on our client list and we understand each of them have very different needs.

Some of our clients know exactly who they want to work with and they’re ready to brief, others just have the beginnings of an idea which they want to explore, we love working with both. So, whatever stage you are at in your project the best thing to do is to give us a call or drop as an email and we’ll be able to help you out.

Would you like us to represent you?

We are always on the look out for exceptional talent to represent. If you would like us to review your work, please send us samples or a link to your website.

Our Sister Agency

Back In the 1980’s a new kind of illustration was emerging; stylised, graphic artwork was bursting on to the creative scene and Meiklejohn wanted to be part of it. So the New Division agency was formed, a boutique agency which showcased a select group of contemporary artists.

Over the past 20 years New Division has evolved and it now represents a carefully curated collection of lifestyle, fashion and stylised artists. To visit New Division please click here.
